An investigation into alleged child luring and sexual assault in Thunder Bay has led to a Toronto man facing nearly 100 charges.

Toronto police on Wednesday announced that a 31-year-old man had been arrested after a sexual assault investigation, with policing believing there are more victims.

In December, members of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children From Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet in Thunder Bay alerted Toronto police to a child luring and sexual assault investigation involving a young person.

Toronto police said a search warrant was executed on Feb. 7 and alleged several electronic devices were seized containing evidence related to the Thunder Bay allegations. The devices also contained what police allege is a large amount of child sexual abuse material.

Police allege the investigation also led to evidence that a seven-year-old child had been sexually assaulted at a Toronto park, and that more victims were targeted online through several social media platforms and in-person across Ontario.

The charges are related to alleged incidents that took place between April 2021 and February 2023, involving multiple victims ranging in age between seven and 17. Police said it's believed there are multiple victims — both in-person and online — across Ontario.

The man, Daniel Langdon, is charged with 39 counts of sexual assault and 39 counts of sexual interference, along with eight counts of administering a noxious substance, as well as additional counts of making, possession and accessing child pornography.

Toronto police said Langdon allegedly used altered photos of himself to appear younger and had several handles on social media platforms and multiple email addresses.

Anyone who has information, or may have interacted with the accused, is asked to contact Toronto police, or their local police service or Crime Stoppers.
