When a man took his dog out for a walk on Tackaberry Drive in North Bay Monday night, he got a surprise on returning home.
It was 11 p.m. and he found a man rummaging through the family vehicle. The owner grabbed the thief, removed him from the vehicle and held him until police arrived.
The man was arrested for theft and trespass by night. A search revealed several break and enter tools inside his backpack and he provided police with a false name.
A 27-year-old North Bay man is charged with:
- Theft under $5,000,
- Trespass at Night,
- Possession of Break in instruments and
- Obstruct a Peace Officer.
He was held for a bail hearing.
