Mortal injuries force Timmins police to destroy moose

The Timmins Police Service responded to calls of an injured moose in the Wendy Street area of Timmins during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 4.

The animal had sustained mortal injury to its abdomen due to having made its way over a fence.

The injured animal was located on Railway Street a short while later by Timmins Police officers.

When it was safe to do so, the animal was humanely destroyed. The carcass was removed without further incident.
