ORILLIA – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Orillia Crime Unit is currently investigating the report of a sexual assault which occurred on the Recreational Trail in Oro-Medonte between Woodland Drive and the 15 Line.

On June 10, 2016 at approximately 9:10 p.m., the Orillia OPP responded to an assault on a female on the recreational trail. 

Police were advised that the female victim and a male were on the trail when they were approached by a male on a bicycle. 

The male stopped and was talking to the two parties when he reached out and grabbed the female’s buttocks.  He then left on the bicycle heading south towards Barrie.

The suspect is described as a white male in 40s, unshaven but with a mustache and was wearing glasses.  The suspect was riding a silver mountain bike at the time of the incident.

The Orillia OPP is requesting the assistance of the public who may have been in the area and may have seen the suspect.
