As of Saturday afternoon, no new forest fires were discovered in the region.
There are currently 13 active fires in the region, including two of which are not currently under control.
Wawa 8, which was discovered late Friday afternoon, is 2.8 hectares and located northeast of Killala Lake.
Wawa 9, which was discovered Friday evening, is 3.2 hectares and located about 15 km north of Highway 17 near Highway 614.
Of the other fires in the region, one is being held, three are under control, and seven are being observed.
The fire hazard in the region ranges from high to extreme in the northern portion and is moderate to high in the far north.
Other areas of the region are currently seeing a low to moderate fire hazard.
