North Bay OPP laid more than 100 charges last weekend, including fishing without a licence

North Bay OPP had a very busy weekend on local highways, trails and lakes.  

Since Friday, officers conducted over 180 traffic stops and laid over 100 charges.   

They also patrolled area lakes and trails using snowmobiles.  

Officers laid numerous charges, including:

  • Fishing Without a Licence,
  • Catching and Retaining Fish of Prohibited Size,
  • Fail to Wear Proper Helmet
  • Fail to Display Evidence of Permit and
  • Having Liquor in Open Container in Other Than Licenced Premises, Residence, or Private Place. 

OPP warn that during the winter freeze up, consuming alcohol on a lake is an offence unless you are inside an ice hut with both sleeping and cooking facilities.
