The Ontario Provincial Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting last week in Sturgeon Falls.

On Friday, police said Jamie Boyd, 35, died after being shot Aug. 26 at 8:15 p.m. near Drive In Road and Leblanc Road in the community.

A 59-year-old female, also from Sturgeon Falls, was injured during the altercation. She was taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition, the news release said.

Residents in the area were told to lock their windows and doors as North East Region OPP and the West Nipissing Police Service sought a 46-year-old man.

A man of the same age “also died in this incident but due to an ongoing SIU investigation, the OPP will not be releasing his name,” the release said.
