Barrie Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male following a theft that took place on July 6 at a Mac’s Convenience store on Dunlop Street.

A woman is without her cell phone after inadvertently leaving it on a shelf while inside Mac’s Convenience.

Within minutes of leaving the store the victim had realized she left her cell phone behind, and when she returned her phone was gone, police said.

Video surveillance captured a male retrieving the victim’s cell phone from where she had left it, and concealing it in his pocket then purchasing a slushy and leaving the store.

The suspect is described as;

  • Male, white (50-55 yrs.)
  • Short black/grey hair and goatee
  • Wearing glasses and a white t-shirt

Police didn't say what type of slushy (or Froster, as they're called at Mac's stores) the man purchased.
