Hardly a year after opening in Sault Ste. Marie, Bodystream Medical Marijuana Services has been forced to move to larger premises at 67 Elgin Street.
The clinic advises SooToday that it's been much more comfortable since moving recently from its original site in the Soo Centre at 123 March Street.
Its patient list has grown from 500 a year ago to 4,000 now.
The clinic moved last month but signage has yet to be installed on its larger Elgin Street location.
As SooToday's Jeff Klassen reported one year ago, Bodystream doesn't have marijuana on site and doesn't sell the product.
Patients can get prescriptions through the clinic, which will then help them get linked up to a licensed cannabis seller.
The clinic says medical marijuana can help treat the following conditions:
- chronic pain
- depression
- irritable bowel syndrome
- nausea from cancer treatment
- colitis
- Crohn’s Disease
- fibromyalgia
- migraines
- muscular dystrophy
- Parkinson’s Disease
- sleep disorders
- post traumatic stress disorder
- Hepatitis C
- back and neck problems
- multiple sclerosis
- spinal cord injury/disease
- human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV) acquired Immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
- rheumatoid arthritis
- epilepsy
- attention deficit disorder (ADD)/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- anorexia nervosa
- bulimia nervosa
Bodystream has similar clinics in 15 Ontario communities.
Its new Sault location is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
