Barrie Police are still searching for a suspect in the homicide on Kozlov Street in the city's north end.

"Investigators are actively investigating several persons of interest," said Const. Sarah Bamford.

Family members who live in Barrie have identified the victim as 50-year-old Dana Camber.

Camber was found unresponsive in her third floor apartment at 101 Kozlov Street early Tuesday morning.

A 9-1-1 call about shots fired brought police to the scene around 2:40 a.m.

Camber was pronounced dead at hospital after suffering what police said were "significant wounds."

An autopsy was scheduled for today but Bamford said the results are not expected until tomorrow.

Forensic Identification officers were at the scene again Wednesday scouring Camber's apartment for evidence.

There have been no arrests and police are mum on a suspect.

Investigators have only said Camber knew her assailant but have not elaborated.

Police are appealing to anyone who lives in the area around the scene who may have external video surveillance or any information to contact the Barrie Police Homicide Unit  at 705-725-7025 ext. 2160 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
