Stolen Terry Fox plaque found

Will be reinstalled in the near future

The Terry Fox plaque has been found.

The bronze plaque marking the location where Guelph holds its Terry Fox Run each year went missing a few weeks ago, apparently ripped off the large rock it was cemented to beside the trail in Royal City Park, just east of Edinburgh Road.

City of Guelph spokesperson Michelle Rickard reports the plaque was found in a parking lot at the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 401 and turned into Hamilton Police earlier this month.

A city bylaw officer has since picked it up and Rickard said the city will have it reinstalled at its original location in the near future.

The plaque was dedicated by Fox’s parents in 1990.
