VAL RITA - The driver of a passenger vehicle on Highway 11 narrowly avoided a head-on crash with a transport truck making a dangerous pass.
James Bay OPP has shared dash cam video of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) passing a vehicle on Highway 11 in Val Rita yesterday (Feb. 12). The video shows the driver of an oncoming passenger vehicle hitting the shoulder of the road to avoid a collision.
The incident was reported to police and the 29-year-old driver of the transport was stopped five minutes after the call and charged with making a dangerous pass.
"The OPP relies on the public to ensure our roads stay safe. If you witness any dangerous driving behaviour, please don't hesitate to report it to us, your information could make all the difference," said police in a Facebook post.
