Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the charges come as no surprise to those who have followed the case.

The OPP today charged Patricia Sorbara, aged 60 years of Toronto, with two counts of bribery and Gerry Lougheed Jr., aged 62 years of Sudbury, with one count of bribery relating to the candidate nomination process for the 2015 provincial by-election in the Electoral District of Sudbury.

"I think the evidence is pretty clear, but now that charges of bribery have been laid against the CEO of the Liberal party, the Premier needs to come clean about what she knew and when she knew it," Fedeli told BayToday.

"You've got a government with five OPP investigations. You've got four senior operatives charged, two of them who were former deputy chiefs of staff to the Premier. We deserve better and I think we need a government that puts the people first and not their party."

Members of the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch began investigating the apparent contraventions of the Act in December of 2015.
