VIA Rail has announced most of its trains will resume service on their normal schedules, as of Saturday.
This includes all service between Ottawa and Toronto and Toronto to Montreal, with the exception of trains 45 and 655, which will resume service on Sunday.
The rail company also confirms The Canadian, which runs from Toronto to Vancouver, has resumed service as of today and is back to its full and normal schedule.
As a result, VIA says they are continuing to call back the vast majority of the 1000 employees affected by temporary suspensions that were announced on February 19.
The Prince Rupert-Prince George-Jasper route remains suspended as the rail company works on a resumption timeline.
