Mississauga, ON — Today, the Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives, emerged from this week’s national debates as the only leader with a plan to get Canada’s economy back on track and secure the future for all Canadians.
“Four weeks ago, on the first full day of the campaign, I released Canada’s Recovery Plan, a detailed plan to secure our economic recovery,” O’Toole said. “Even though he called this election during a pandemic, we have seen Justin Trudeau fail to present a vision for the country and resort to a campaign of scaremongering. Canadians deserve better and only Conservatives have the plan and the team to follow through.”
With Canada’s Recovery Plan, a Conservative government will:
- Secure Jobs by recovering the one million jobs lost during the pandemic in one year.
- Secure Accountability by enacting new anti-corruption laws to clean up the mess in Ottawa.
- Secure Mental Health by delivering the Canada Mental Health Action Plan.
- Secure the Country by building capacity here at home to handle any future pandemic or crisis.
- Secure our Economy by balancing the budget over the next decade.
A Conservative government will also lower prices by introducing a GST holiday for the month of December, lower food prices and cell phone bills, and tackle the housing crisis.
“Justin Trudeau called this election during a pandemic for his own selfish reasons, but this election is actually about you and your family,” said O’Toole. “With one week to go, Canadians have a choice to make: voting for more of the same out-of-control spending and higher prices with Trudeau and the NDP; or voting for Canada’s Recovery Plan to secure jobs, lower prices, and better services for all Canadians.”
