Our mission at Sudbury.com is to strengthen the communities we serve and in that spirit, we are spearheading an online fundraiser in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
As Big Brothers Big Sisters staff and volunteers see first-hand, many families in our community are living with complex challenges stemming from systemic injustice and structural inequality. Children in these families are more prone to facing adversity which could negatively impact their academic, social and economic well-being.
This is one of the reasons mentorship programs like those provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters are crucial for youth development and with summer approaching, the organization needs support to make these programs possible.
In response to that need, we at Sudbury.com are spearheading a fundraiser to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
But that’s not all.
We know that Sudbury is full of caring individuals and businesses who would generously donate to this initiative as well. So, we contacted a number of local businesses to see if they would also like to match reader contributions with a cash donation.
As a result, for every $25 donation made in our pop-up store from now until May 19 at 12 p.m., each dollar will be matched 15 times and all proceeds will go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
That means your $25 donation will turn into a $400 donation!
Here is how you can help us give local youth the best summer ever:
- Log in to your Sudbury.com account (or register for free).
- Select the Big Brothers Big Sisters logo to donate and enter your credit card details.
- Check the 'Confirm’ button and click ‘Donate’ to confirm your purchase.
- That's it, you did it! You gave back to local youth with the click of a button!
Thanks to Cooperative Funeral Home, Cintas Sudbury, Equipment World Sudbury, Greater Sudbury Plumbing, House of Broadloom, Lougheed Foundation, Mosquito Hero, Ranger's Cremation and Burial Services, Rastall Nut & Bolt Co. Ltd., Sudbury Credit Union, Sudbury E-Bikes, The Kouzzina, The Shop Industrial Inc. and Urban Windows and Doors who have joined us in matching each donation.
Sudbury.com is proud to lead this worthwhile cause in an effort to help empower local children to reach their full potential.
Programs like this and support from businesses and community members - like you - help us to give back to Sudbury.
