We are looking for a full-time Communicative Disorders Assistant for a one-year contract to assist the supervising therapist (ST) to support children & youth in-Centre, in-home and/or in-school, within Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District (travel will be required). The position will be located out of one of THRIVE’s office in Sault Ste Marie. Both positions will start early January 2024. What we need from you:

Post-graduate diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant from accredited college is required.
Membership in the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada
Experience in pediatric rehabilitation an asset
Experience providing virtual therapy and working with children with ASD would be an asset
Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a commitment to a collaborative team approach and work well under supervision.
Sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and positional differences among staff, providers and children/families served.
Ability to organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced service-oriented environment
Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC)
Current CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required.
A valid Class G driver’s license and personal transportation are required.
Willing to work flexible hours and to travel across the District of Algoma is required.
The ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.

THRIVE Child Development Centre/Centre de développement de l’enfant is an incorporated, non-profit Children’s Treatment Centre made up of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, therapy assistants, early childhood educators, ABA Therapists and support staff. We provide inter-disciplinary pediatric rehabilitation, respite care, an on-site childcare program and resource support to community childcare centres in Sault Ste.
