I was just wondering: A case of mistaken identity

Sudbury.com launched a new Sunday morning columnist last week, but apparently we insulted our new writer by calling him a ‘pug’ instead of the breed he actually is, a Brussels griffon. Finn the Griffon explains

Mistaken identity. Have you ever been mistaken for someone else? I have. In my earlier article, I was referred to as Finn the Pug! I ain’t no Pug.

I’m proud to let you know that I am a Brussels Griffon, Petit Brabançon. I am often mistaken for a Pug, since the Pugs and I have a similar, most adorable face.

The honourable Pug originates from China and weighs in between 14-18 pounds. They’re usually ivory in colour or black. Also, they’re adorable!

And moi, well my breed originates in Belgium. Brussels griffons like myself weigh in between 8-12 pounds. I’m hovering at 12.5 pounds now – shhhh. My breed is usually brownish red, tan or black, and we have a smooth and long-haired version.  I’m a smoothy (and adorable also!).

So, I was just wondering, have you been mistaken for someone else?

“I was just wondering” is a light new Sunday feature on Sudbury.com from Finn, a Brussels griffon breed of dog, and his “mom”, Jaana Pirnes. Come back next week to see what Finn is up to. Got a question for Finn? You can email him at [email protected].
