Do you live to save money or spend and live as you go? RRSPs, GICs, TFSAs, pensions and savings accounts have been mentioned often these days.

A lot of comfort and security is felt when you see your dollars growing. You won’t have to worry as much later on, when earning opportunities end. You’ll be able to get what you need and want, when you need and want it. This looks like a form of happiness.

We have friends who travel and buy things that provide them joy and comfort now.  Cars, toys, clothes, jewelry. Possibly fancier appliances, crystal and fine linens. This also looks like a form of happiness.

It truly is such a personal choice. I’m glad that I don’t have to figure out what is best for me. I rely on my mom for that.

So, what is your inclination?  Do you live to save or spend and live?

“I Was Just Wondering” is a Sunday feature on Sudbury.com from Finn, a Brussels griffon breed of dog, and his “mom”, Jaana Pirnes. Come back next week to see what Finn is up to. Got a question for Finn? You can email him at [email protected].
