It’s what Mom does that makes me wonder about this.
On some nights, when Mom and I sit out on the dock together, she quietly watches the stars. I’m curled up in her lap, but each time I peek up at her, I see her staring up at them with a gentle smile on her face. I melt when I see that.
Other times (especially on a full moon night), Mom focuses on the moon and that’s when she starts howling. Of course I know it’s weird — she’s not a dog! Duh.
However, even though Mom is not going to like me telling you this, here’s the truth: She howls, she’s great at it, and that fills me with pride.
I admit that sometimes I wonder what the neighbours think, but mostly, I just wish they would do it, too.
