Cash Fares

Exact change is required when boarding the bus. Our drivers cannot make change. Please have your fare ready upon boarding, and deposit your fare into the fare box.

Adults: $ 3.00

Student: $3.00

Children (Age 5 or older - under 60" (1.52 metres): $ 2.20

Older Adults (with photo I.D. card): $2.20

Special (with photo I.D. card): $2.20

Children age 4 and under ride free of charge.
 

5 Ride & 10 Ride Cards

Buy a 5 or 10 ride card and each time you board the bus, place your card into the slot on top of the farebox. The farebox will deduct your balance of rides and print the information on the back of the card. Remember, if you require a transfer, please request one when using your card.

Student: $12.00

Children (Age 5 or older - under 60" (1.52 metres): $9.00

Older Adults (with photo I.D. Card): $9.00

Special (with photo I.D. card): $9.00

Children age 4 and under ride free of charge.
 

10 Rides

Adults: $24.00

Student: $24.00

Children (Age 5 or older - under 60" (1.52 metres): $ 18.00

Older Adults (with photo I.D. Card): $18.00

Special (with photo I.D. card): $18.00

Children age 4 and under ride free of charge.
 

31 Day Passes

Adult: $82.00

Student: $76.00

Children (Age 5 or older - under 60" (1.52 metres): $49.00

Older Adults: $49.00

Special : $49.00

31 Day Passes are good for unlimited rides on Greater Sudbury Transit. The 31 day pass may be activated on any day of the month. It expires 31 consecutive days after activation.
 

Photo Identification Cards:

A $6.00 photo identification card is required prior to purchasing a 31 day bus pass. Photo I.D. pictures are taken at the Transit Centre Kiosk. The photo i.d. is part of your 31 day bus pass and MUST always be shown to the driver when boarding the bus. Bus passes are the property of Greater Sudbury Transit. Passes that are found to be misused will be cancelled.
 

Definition and Benefits for Older Adults:

If you are 55 years of age or older, you are entitled to purchase an Older Adult photo I.D. card for a one-time fee of $6.00.

Proof of age will be required when purchasing your photo I.D. card. Photo I.D. with your date of birth or a photo I.D. accompanied by your birth certificate will be accepted.

Once you have purchased your photo I.D. card, you will qualify for reduced fares on all Greater Sudbury Transit buses.
 

Definition and Benefits for Disability Pensioners (“Special” fare schedule):

You are eligible for a Disability Pensioners' Pass (Special) if you are a resident of the City of Greater Sudbury and are currently receiving one of the following:

Ontario Disability Support Program (O.D.S.P.)

Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (A.C.S.C.)

Canada Pension Plan Disability (C.P.P.D.)

Veterans' Disability Pension

Registered with the C.N.I.B.
 

How to apply for “Special” fare schedule:

Application forms are available at the Greater Sudbury Transit Centre Kiosk located at 9 Elm Street or by dialing 705-675-3333.

Once you have purchased your photo I.D. card, you will qualify for discounted “Special” fares on all Greater Sudbury Transit buses.
