Focus Health Physiotherapy + Wellness

Established in 1998, Focus Health Physiotherapy + Wellness quickly made a name for itself in the Sudbury area. Since these humble beginnings, our practice has continued to evolve and grow, incorporating modern physiotherapy techniques and modalities, as well as a brand-new Rayside location to conveniently serve you better. Whether it be a minor ache or pain, or a devastating traumatic injury, our caring and supportive staff offer relief as well as education, ultimately ensuring all patients meet the long-term health goals that have been set before them.

Manual Therapy

At Focus Health Physiotherapy + Wellness, manual therapy involves skilled, specific hands-on techniques to address joint and soft tissue inflammation.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy uses mild electrical currents to heal tissues and functions by increasing circulation while simultaneously decreasing pain, swelling, and inflammation. There are many different types of electrotherapy, all of which affect the neuromuscular system differently.

At our clinic we use:

  • Interferential Current (IFC)
  • Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
  • Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

The physiotherapist will conduct an assessment based on your condition and needs in order to get you the best electrotherapy fit possible. Afterwards, you will work together to develop a structured, goal-oriented treatment plan focused on physically getting you back to where you need to be.

Chiropractic services we offer:

  • Chiropractic Adjustment: Precise, gentle movements applied to the spine or joints to realign them, alleviate pain, and improve overall body function.
  • Muscle Release Technique: Precise pressure is applied to targeted muscles and soft tissues to alleviate tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Included with every chiropractic adjustment.
  • Graston/Scraping: Manual therapy that employs specialized tools to effectively detect and treat soft tissue injuries and restrictions, improving mobility and reducing pain.
  • Cupping Therapy: Placing cups on the skin to create suction, promoting blood flow and relieving muscle tension.
  • Taping: Placed on an injured area to help reduce inflammation, increase circulation, reduce pain, improve mobility, enhance recovery, and prevent future injuries.
  • Orthotics: Using a 3D scanner a precise image of the foot is captured to create a custom-made shoe insert. This insert supports the feet's natural alignment, providing stability and alleviating various foot-related issues for improved comfort and function.
  • Rehabilitative Care: A comprehensive approach that combines tailored exercises, stretches, and personalized health recommendations to promote recovery, enhance mobility, and optimize overall well-being.

Our clinicians are highly experienced in assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. With a thorough history taking, listening to your experiences and your story, our physiotherapists can accurately diagnose via phone, or through our online video platform.
