For the past two years, local musician Jane Russell has been putting on pop up concerts around town.
However, Russell, who's lived in Sudbury for seven years, is moving away soon to be closer to family, meaning this Saturday's event, set to take place at the gazebo in Bell Park at 2:30 p.m., is the last pop up concert.
“Thank you so much for your support over the years and for joining me in experiencing music in many wonderful venues,” Russell said.
The concert will have two parts. Part one is a secret, while part two is a “musical potluck.”
“You read correctly,” Russell said. “Bring out your instruments: banjos, guitars, flutes, drums, concertinas, cellos, violins, violas, bass, accordions, kazoos, trombones, trumpets ... let's see how many we can get! Then we are going to do some musical sharing. I'll play a tune for you and you play a tune for me. Maybe we can make a tune together. Lets meet new people and make music together!
“For those who would like to leave your instruments at home, why not bring some games? Maybe a frisbee or a croquet set, what about a slack line and some juggling? It's going to be a wild day at Bell Park, can't wait to see you there!”
