If you're looking for a family friendly holiday outing, you might want to check out YES Theatre's production of Mary Poppins, which runs Dec. 12-14.

But you should get on purchasing tickets soon, as the theatre company said more than 4,000 tickets have already been sold.

“After the success of our first two orchestra presentations, Beauty and the Beast and The Sound of Music, we are thrilled with the response from the community for this magical holiday tradition!” said a press release.

Mary Poppins features a cast of 26 actors, including favourite local YES Theatre company members Leah Perreault, Jake Deeth, Tessa Gooden, Colin Eady, Jess Crowe and Janie Pinard, along with an orchestra of 16 renowned local musicians.

The production is directed by Thomas Alderson, an actor and director with an extensive resume including the Broadway/Mirvish production of Kinky Boots.

Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny trying to remind us that “anything can happen, if you let it.”

The production runs Dec. 12, 13 and 14 and 7 p.m. There's also a 1 p.m. matinee performance Dec. 14. All shows run at Glad Tidings Church.

Tickets cost $30 for youth and students, $35 for seniors (age 65+) and $40 for adults (plus tax and service fees).

Purchase them online at yestheatre.com, or in person or by phone (705-222-1759) at One Sky on Durham Street (Tuesdays and Fridays from 12-5 p.m. only).
