Thumbs up to Rand Dyck and Mayor David
Courtemarche on their views about the voting age being lowered
to 16.
Thumbs down to Senator Mac Harb for
suggesting voting should be mandatory. We already have some
people who don't know what they're doing, and
he suggests people should have to vote or
face fines.
Perhaps, politics should be a mandatory
subject in schools.
As for Maureen McNamara, who wants to make
our young people feel respected, that's something which is
earned, and picking the leaders of our
cities and country is too high on the
ladder.
The biggest mistake was lowering the voting
age in the very beginning. Instead of lowering the voting age,
let's raise it back to 21.
