I would like to make a comment about the
radar base (in Hanmer).
My name is Anka Kutlesa. My husband Jeff
Brown and my daughter lived on the base from May 1, 2002 until
March 31, 2003.
We loved living there, but because there was
no bus route we could not live there any longer.
We never had a problem with mould or things
not being repaired when there was a problem.
When we first signed the lease we were told
by management that the abandoned buildings were not safe, and
not to go into that area.
What really used to aggravate me was all the
vandalism that went on and neglectful parents. Our unit was
targeted many times by children throwing rocks at the door.
Parents would refuse to admit that their children did
anything.
The kids knew enough to wait until the
management office was closed before they would start. The
article (in the May 7 edition, Northern Life) made me extremely
angry and I do not understand why some parents turn a blind eye
to their kids actions.
I would highly recommend the radar base for
anyone looking for a place to live.
