It is amazing that Northern Life, Greater
Sudbury's Community Newspaper, neglected to cover an extremely
significant community event recently.
Six seniors, who throughout their lives made
an exceptional and lasting contribution to Valley East, were
chosen an kings and queens of Celebration 2004 in the Valley.
There were presented with their crowns and honoured at Buddies
April 3.
The two queens, Gisele Charette and Suzanne
Laderoute, and four kings, Roger Brideau, Gerard Chartrand,
Ronald Laderoute and Ron Mrochek, deserve official recognition
and appreciation by Greater Sudbury's Community
Newspaper.
These outstanding volunteers should be
considered as ongoing inspiration to those of us who say, "I
should get involved," but, unfortunately leave it up to
selfless people such as our very deserving kings and queens to
carry the load.
Come on, Northern Life. Get with it. Isn't
that that Greater Sudbury is supposed to be all about. People
supporting people.
