Letter: Be proud, wear a mask

Make it fun, and show your family and friends you care

Wearing a face mask really isn’t the end of the world, says reader. (File)

Recently there has been a lot of controversy in the community regarding the wearing of face masks in relation to COVID 19.

I am a firm believer that face masks work. It gives me a sense of comfort knowing that I respect and am caring of my neighbours and fellow Sudburians. Let’s all respect one another. It’s really not the end of the world. Make it fun. Show your family and friends that you care.

Face masks should be made mandatory. Face masks are like seatbelts — they save lives. We did not want to be told to wear seatbelts, but now it’s automatic, we get in the car, we buckle up.  The same applies to face masks, we leave the house, we mask up.

We’ve come a long way Sudbury, let’s not relapse. Let’s all do our part in keeping everyone safe and healthy. Be proud, wear a mask.

My only concern about face masks is that they are being disposed of on the streets, sidewalks, ditches, etc. Let’s not make them the new coffee cups. Let’s dispose of them properly.

Let’s show that we are proud of our community, by staying together.
