Reader André Clément isn't a fan of Glenn Thibeault's recent online ad campaign.

Most of us are familiar with the current Facebook scandal with millions learning their personal data was farmed for the presidential campaign in the U.S. and the Brexit referendum in the UK.

Where today’s investigations will lead remain to be seen, but one factor has emerged — that this pirating of personal data is wrong and that something should be done about safeguarding personal information.

Although it has not yet been declared, we know Ontario is headed for an election sometime this year. These are simple, undisputed facts.

YouTube viewers are accustomed to the “free Internet” that offers a normally uninterrupted access to news and entertainment. Occasionally, we viewers are subjected to a variety of advertisements that sporadically pop up to fragment the free flow of information.

This scene has recently changed with the repeated assaults by Mr. Glenn Thibeault hawking the provincial government’s latest declarations about paid-for medication.

Without commenting on the merits of this government’s latest pre-election pronouncements, I am voicing a stringent objection to being frequently assaulted by the same repeated message by Mr. Thibeault.

Clearly, I am the victim of some targeted marketing that has been engineered to keep pounding me with a pre-election message of Mr. Thibeault and his Liberal Party.

I have no idea how I was harvested to be a recipient of this message, but I fervently object to falling victim to this current fine-tuning of government propaganda. I also ask myself if the Liberal Party is paying for these adverts or if payment is coming our of government funds.

Our prospects as Ontario taxpayers and voters are already looking pretty glum. Our choices are not pretty or encouraging. This recent display of compromised integrity by Mr. Thibeault does not bode well for the Party or for Ontario.
