The tragedy in Alberta with the death of four
young RCMP officers leads me to question how C-68 and the long
gun registry failed so miserably.
After this government spent more than a
billion dollars on the registry, Canadians deserve value for
their money.
I am asking that Auditor General Sheila
Fraser do an intensive audit on all money spent on the creation
and maintenance of the long-gun registry to
answer the question, "Have Canadian taxpayers
received value for their spent tax dollars?"
And, the spending continues with the
government budgeting $85 million for the registry this
year.
The time for accountability is long
overdue.
