New Alzheimer Centre a reality - Joe Drago

On behalf of the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin, I would like to thank the Dragon Boat Festival Executive for a generous $130, 091.48 in pledge receipts for the year 2005.

On behalf of the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin, I would like to thank the Dragon Boat Festival Executive for a generous $130, 091.48 in pledge receipts for the year 2005. This makes the total earnings the Alzheimer Society has received in two years from the festival a whopping $255,000.

Thank you one and all! What an amazing feat for the Dragon Boat Festival volunteers; some of whom have to work virtually full-time to make the event run as efficiently as possible. Thank you, paddlers. Your effort and practice is the show; the reason we all end up at the waterfront. Thank you to the businesses, the people of Greater Sudbury and all donors who have given generously. Because of you, we hope to begin renovations on the new Alzheimer Centre this winter. It would be wonderful to see as many of you as possible at the grand opening next spring.

The New Alzheimer Centre will be a spacious, state-of-the-art centre, which will provide expanded programs to relieve the stress of many caregivers and be a refuge for those with Alzheimer Disease and related Dementia.
