I was really disappointed after seeing the
photos in Sunday's issue about the $500,000 donated to NOSM by
AstraZeneca and matched by the Northern Heritage Fund. I am
ecstatic about the influx of generosity coming from the north
and support it completely. However, I believe it is misleading
to readers to not mention that the activist in one of the
pictures is Dr. Gary Kinsman, a professor of sociology at
Laurentian University. He is an expert on the matter of
poverty in the region, not just some Joe
Shmoe. There are other issues at play here and the readers
deserve to know all the facts.
