In response to the controversy surrounding the Guinness World Record Hockey Game, the Espanola General Hospital Foundation (EGHF) would like to clarify that the opinions expressed by private citizens are not necessarily those of this organization.

The EGHF, along with St. Joseph's Villa Foundation, set out, in the spirit of friendly competition, to raise funds for their respective organizations, 40 players, from each community, committed their time and efforts for this worthy cause.

The dedication by these 80 players is to be commended and applauded. The efforts from each community are an exemplary example of what Northern Ontario can accomplish and should not be overshadowed by this controversy.

Both communities, players and volunteers, can be extremely proud of their accomplishment. It was a tremendous feat that was carried our successfully by Espanola and Sudbury. Congratulations.
