Poorly cleared sidewalks keep disabled hostage in homes - Maurice Doucette

I have multiple sclerosis and although I still manage to get by on my own, recently (Feb. 24) a simple walk was impossible due to the shape of the city's sidewalks

Approximately near the supper hour I left my residence at Robin's Nest Co-op on Paris Street walking toward Walford Road. I trudged through the tricky ice, snow, and slush. Even on a cleanly plowed route, my careful walk is always rather a snail's pace, using a necessary cane to aid my troubled leg.

Thankfully, a most the helpful transit driver of the bus I was attempting to catch kindly helped me.

Shouldn't the residents of Sudbury have sidewalks on public streets cleared to allow for basic walking?

I happen to know a number of disabled citizens who are hostages at home due to these terrible sidewalks in the city.
