With a really long Canada Day weekend, power
boaters and watercraft riders will be out on the lakes. As the
waves hit the shorelines, unfortunately the loon chicks will
get washed off their nests. At this stage they can't swim and
they drown.
Please, resist the urge to speed. Slow down
and enjoy the quiet of the lake. We love the call of the loons.
Let's take care to let them live to make the sounds of the
north once more.
