I have been reading about the Sudbury Transit
Terminal kiosk (regarding the $100,000 contract with the
private sector to provide transit information).
Last Saturday about 6 pm, I went to the bank
and there was a man who was drunk asleep on the floor. His
friends tried to walk him up to no avail.
I went to the transit centre and asked for
help. One attendant refused to call police. Another person took
about 10 minutes to look up the telephone number of the police.
Then it took police 25 minutes to respond. A police officer
eventually was able to remove the sleeper. Why so long when the
police station is so close?
I am a senior with problems walking. With the
broken curbs and snow-covered sidewalks, it is hard to get from
St. Andrew's to the downtown mall. Any solution would be
appreciated.
