I am an avid snowboarder. Every year I travel
to North Bay to get an early start to the season because the
hill there is open and ours isn't.
I have been travelling to Jack Pine almost
every weekend since early December, and it amazes me how many
people from our neck of the woods are doing the same. I ride
the tow with people from Sudbury, Manitoulin Island and
Chelmsford because Adanac is late opening yet again.
Jack Pine hill in North Bay is much bigger
than Adanac, and staff there find the time and money to blow
snow so people can actually enjoy the hill before spring.
Why can't we get the hill ready and open
before North Bay? It just makes no sense.

Editor's note: Capreol Ski Hill is open last Saturday. The
opening of Adanac Ski Hill has been delayed while upgrades to
equipment are being completed. Adanac is expected to open in
mid-January.
