Safety makes sense - C. Boyer

Every year at least 33,000 people in Ontario are accidentally stuck with conventional needles. Needlestick injuries can cause potentially fatal diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Current laws do not protect us or our children.

Every year at least 33,000 people in Ontario are accidentally stuck with conventional needles.

Needlestick injuries can cause potentially fatal diseases such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Current laws do not protect us or our children.

These injuries are largely preventable with the use of "safety-engineered devices." They have safety features built in.

They cost a few pennies more than conventional needles, but saving lives and peopleís health is worth a few extra cents.

Bill 179 is a private member's bill regarding the mandatory us of "safety-engineered" needles in Ontario. Please contact your MPP and request Bill 179 be enacted as soon as possible.
