Last year we collected 500 pairs of shoes during our shoe drive. Our drive will take place from May 26 to 30.

All types of new and used shoes in good condition are needed, especially heavy duty boots with rubber soles such as work boots, athletic shoes, walking shoes, and children's shoes. Donations can be brought to the DeSimone Foot & Ankle Centre, 761 Lasalle Blvd. Phone 560-FEET for more information.

More than three per cent of the population is homeless. Over 40 per cent are families with children, usually single mothers. More than 70 per cent of the homeless are unemployed.
