As a person living in Chelmsford, many people, including
myself, are sick and tired of the idea behind amalgamation into
the City of Greater Sudbury.  The town of Rayside Balfour
was smart enough to take on the casino years ago as a great
business to enter into the township. It was not wanted by
Sudbury at the time.
The idea of the casino being  moved to the city is
ridiculous. One letter writer said that it would not affect any
jobs. What about the restaurants  that get business from
casino patrons and also other businesses around Chelmsford and
Azilda?
I do not like that once again a resource from the
surrounding communities (think of all the resources lost from
Chelmsford, Azilda, Valley East, Capreol and other surrounding
towns) should just be given to Sudbury. I would like to see it
go the other way. Give  back Rayside, the Valley and
Capreol.
My taxes have gone up around $600 since amalgamation. I think that Sudbury has gotten a casino-load of money from Chelmsford already.
Next election put it to a vote!
