Canada's health-care system is about to be struck by a wave of Alzheimer Disease that will last a quarter century. Next year 10 million baby boomers begin to turn 60, with the last of them reaching that age by 2031. Age is the biggest risk factor for Alzheimer Disease.

In these final weeks of the federal election campaign - and as January is Alzheimer Awareness Month - the Alzheimer Society is calling upon the federal government to develop a national strategy that will help us plan for the current and emerging needs of those affected. We urge residents of Sudbury
District to write to federal candidates to impress upon them the importance of taking a lead role in the development and implementation of a national
strategy. For helpful resources, visit http://www.alzheimer.ca/english/index-election.htm.
