The 17 regular and 11 occasional participants in the newly-formed informal Older Adult Walking/Fitness Group have just completed their 54th exercise session at the Whitefish Lake First Nationís Community Centre.

Laughter and conversations took place as we walked, did warm-ups, stretches, low-impact aerobics and strengthening exercises. It was great for body, mind and spirit.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped lead and motivate us, provided music, phoned members, set up chairs and collected fees. It was definitely a team effort.

We'd like to express our appreciation to the Whitefish Lake First Nation's Home and Community Care Program for inviting us to be a part of this Breaking the Barriers initiative. Everyone enjoyed the experience.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Richer and Victoria Petahtgoose for their support of our informal Older Walking/Fitness Group.

We look forward to working together in the fall.
