I think it is fair to say the SPCA do not
have enough rights or they do not enforce their rights the way
they should. With the extreme heat wave Sudbury
has had, too many dog owner are leaving their
animals in cars for long periods of time. Is this fair?
In one incident, the SPCA was called because
a dog was in a car for almost two hours. The owner was fairly
intimidating, so nothing was done about the poor animal. If
there was a child left in a vehicle you can bet child services
would be involved, along with the help of police officers. Why
then, is it
any different for the SPCA responding to a
call about an animal.
Something needs to be done about these poor
animals suffering in this heat.
