Aboriginal youth representatives from all Rainbow secondary schools will participate in leadership activities being presented by Great Lakes Cultural Camps on Feb. 19 at Lively District Secondary School.

The Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program is one example of how Rainbow District School Board will ensure success for all students by building leadership capacity among First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth, a press release stated.

The sessions will be on the topic of Full Esteem Ahead - youth leadership program on the nature and nurture of personal identity, achieving a sense of belonging, healthy co-operation skills, decision making and peer pressure. Youth will learn how to call upon their cultural strengths for making healthy choices. Young peoples' right to dream and connecting it to goal-setting is reinforced.

Additional leadership sessions being presented include Hands Across The Border on March 30, Earth Ambassadors on April 20, and Great Lakes Cultural Camp Experience on May 11.
