What do Alex Trebec, Jeff Buttle, Alex Baummann, Robert Esmie, Darryl Brunt, and Joey Niceforo all have in common?

The answer may be found in the new activity book, Bienvenue au Grand Sudbury, written and illustrated by retired educator, Angela Ciccone.

Originally published in English as Welcome to Sudbury, Ontario, the more current French edition includes more information about the francophone community's contribution to the history and culture of Greater Sudbury.

Children will enjoy the drawings of Greater Sudbury's landmarks, festivals, mining and recreational sites. Word searches, mazes, recipes, creative writing, arts and crafts are only some of the activities with a Sudbury flavour. As well, the book includes history bites and facts and figures of Greater Sudbury's past and present.

The activity books are a fun and stimulating way to learn about the unique cultural and ethnic diversity of our city. A great gift for students, teachers, visitors and former residents, the activity books are available at Centre FORA, Coles, Chapters, Science North, Bradley Pharmacy, Asha's Closet (Learning by Heart), and by calling 674-0257 or e-mail [email protected] .

(The answer to the question: They all attended school in the Greater Sudbury area.)
