The Art Gallery of Sudbury has set up a week of activities for children as part of their annual March Break Extravaganza.

From Monday to Friday this week, children aged seven to 14 are being given the opportunity to work with local artists to develop their artistic talents and have some fun. Activities include drawing, painting, sculpting and animating.

clip "It's really fun because you get to do lots of paintings... you don't have to do whatever you're told, you can do whatever you want and painting and drawing," said Yasmin, one of the children in the program.

The program is being offered for $35 per day or $150 for the entire week. The program runs from 10 am to 4 pm, March 10 to 14.

"We run this program because it's a really great opportunity for kids on their March Break to come and see what the gallery is all about, to see what we have to offer and, of course, to give them something to do," said Nancey Gareh-Coulombe, education manager at the Art Gallery of Sudbury. "They get to work with local visual artists and take part in lots of projects that they probably wouldn't ordinarily be able to do."
