Art Gallery of Sudbury curator/director Celeste Scopelites is leaving the gallery next month to begin a new job with the Art Gallery of Peterborough.
Scopelites has been with the gallery since 2003 and has led it both  structurally and creatively through several key initiatives. She will continue to work with board and staff to complete projects that are  currently underway.
"This new position is an important career opportunity that will also allow me to live closer to my family due to my parent's age and my daughter's upcoming marriage next spring," said Scopelites, in a release.
"I very much believe in the potential of this gallery and the future of the visual arts in the City of Greater Sudbury. The rich history and current culture is a relatively untapped resource and the AGS is an integral part of its future development.
"The AGS has made substantial progress over the past decade and as this growth and momentum are maintained by the board and staff, I will continue to support the AGS as I take my leave."
