Sudbury's Blue Saints Drum and Bugle Corps will host Spectacle of Sound July 29 at Queen's Athletic Field. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.
After a successful 2005 show, the Blue Saints will once again welcome corps from Canada, the United States and the Netherlands.
Spectacle of Sound is one of more than 120 musical events leading up to the 2008 Drum Corps International Championships, which will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, from August 5 to 9.
The Blue Saints and the visiting corps will offer spectacular musical routines and jazz, symphonic, new age, pop, rock, and show tunes. These young performers have achieved a level of disciplined showmanship and are regarded as the best in their field, stated a news release.
The corps is incorporated from non-profit organizations operated for the betterment of today's youth.  Each corps, with members aged 12 to 20, is governed by a board of directors with its goals and focus being music education.
