Detailed information about the pressure of the aging population on the snack food market and snacking trends is found in the latest edition of the NPD 2006 Snacking Report.

The NPD 2006 Snacking Report reveals the top snack in Canada is fresh fruit, followed by  chocolate, then yogurt. This is a shift from 2003 when chips were the number three snack.

As boomers age, health motivations overtake hunger as the top driver for eating perceived guilt free snacks.
