Greater Sudbury police chief Frank Elsner presented a cheque for $500 through the Chief’s Youth Initiative Fund to the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. Donations help fund YMCA programming for at-risk youth and families.

The YMCA also provides teens with drop-in programs. Last year, more than 420 youth in Greater Sudbury were helped by YMCA programs. During the Strong Kids campaign, people can buy tickets for an 18-speed Vagabond Shimano bicycle, donated by A&J Home Hardware. The YMCA is also selling $40 “family” bracelets made from black Swarovski crystals and sterling silver.

Another bracelet, made from leather and letter beads, is also available for $6. For more information, go to www.ymcastrongkids.ca or phone 673-9136 ext. 2141.
